Job Description:
The Tourism Atikokan Development Intern will:
- provide delivery of social media, digital content creation & marketing on behalf of the Tourism Atikokan Tourism Advisory Committee;
- work with local, regional and other industry and tourism stakeholders;
- develop a four season tourism strategy;
- produce 'Naturally Wild' and 'Canoeing Capital of Canada' marketing materials;
- coordinate and deliver community events;
- perform other duties as required.
Eligibility:
University or college graduate who has graduated within the last three years from an accredited college or university in Tourism, Business or Marketing. The position with be a first full-time employment in the candidate's field of study. Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada. This is a one year position period with an opportunity for an extension to a second year and is funded through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation's Youth Internship Program. Completion of the University of Waterloo's Certificate in Economic Development program may be required in order to fulfill a second year of employment.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will:
- have social extensive media and marketing experience;
- be able to work independently and with a team;
- have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be self-motivated, organized, task-oriented, technically savvy, and a quick learner;
- be able to work independently as well as in a team environment;
- hold a valid Class G driver's license and have access to a vehicle;
- hold a passport as an asset;
- have knowledge of WordPress, Photoshop, video creation as an asset.
