Congratulations to the young entrepreneurs: Landin Oskineegish, Jason Nash and Davis Mullner, behind Quetikokan on the launch of their new social enterprise!
We are very excited to have launched this project in February 2021 with support from FedNor and Ontario’s Rural Economic Development program, and our community sponsors The AEDC, The Fix-it Club, and The Entrepreneur Centre.
Quetikokan is run by a group of young entrepreneurs developing handcrafted, value-added wood products, out of recycled materials. The youth are manufacturing their products in Atikokan and are selling them on an Ecommerce website that they built. This pilot project has given the youth an opportunity to practice entrepreneurial skills in the community in hopes to assist in rural youth retention.
