Update from the Board of Directors- Organizational Changes

Monday, August 8th, 2022

Dear valued partners of the Northwestern Ontario Innovation Centre (NOIC):

It is with mixed feelings that the Board of the Northwestern Ontario Innovation Centre (NOIC) is announcing the competition for two full-time positions within the organization.

Executive Director Kendall Williams has accepted a leadership position with another regional organization. We wish Kendall all the best as her career continues to develop. She will be missed at by the Board, Staff and clients of NOIC given her long service and key contributions. Kendall’s last day with NOIC as Executive Director will be August 19th.

Tania Couture will be leaving her role as Office & System Administrator as she pursues other opportunities that will take her away from Thunder Bay. She will be missed. Efforts are currently underway to secure resources to provide administrative supports.

Judy Sander, currently a Senior Business Advisor with NOIC, has kindly advised she will serve as Interim Executive Director, effective August 20th, until a replacement for Kendall is found. Judy brings with her over 20 years of supporting entrepreneurship in Northwestern Ontario - including many years as a previous Executive Director at NOIC.

A competition to secure a new Executive Director for the Innovation Centre will be launched shortly. The board wishes to thank all NOIC staff for their continued hard work and patience as we work through this transition period.

Clients of NOIC may rest assured knowing that our full suite of services will continue to be provided during the transition by our experienced staff and interim Executive Director.

Respectfully,

Colin Kelly and the Board of Directors
